Joe and Jane Consumer have Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now, there is a push to add Small Business Saturday to the holidayshopping schedule. American Express is leading the charge to get this day moreattention. The company is even offering its cardmemembers a $25statement credit for Small Business Saturday, which will fall on Nov.24 this year. Marketing Daily reports that Twitter is supporting the movement, nowin its third year, with $100 in free credits to thousands ofbusinesses so they can promote their brands. American Express says it established Small Business Saturday in 2010to “help small businesses get more exposure during one of thebiggest shopping weekends of the year.” Other supporters have jumped on board this year to try and help givethis movement some momentum.
