“BeyoncĂ© Knowles-Carter” Stars in Campaign Video for Gucci’s Chime for Change
Beyonce is putting her famous face to work for a good cause. Along with other famous faces including Salma Hayek, Beyonce is starring in the newest campaign video for Gucci’s Chime for Change.
“I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women,” says Beyonce about her role in the campaign. ”Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be.”
Chime for Change is an organization devoted to promoting education, health, and justice for women and girls around the world.
In the campaign video women from around the world are featured protesting for equal rights and Hayek speaks over the clips. Hillary Clinton is featured talking about the possibility of a woman becoming president and women from the Middle East are shown talking about Malala Yousafzai — a young girl that was shot in the head by the Taliban (and survived) for attending school.
The video also marks the first time Beyonce introduces her self as Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

First Lady Michelle Obama Responds to Oscar Appearance Criticism with Class
First Lady Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance at the 85th Academy Awards via satellite and while the crowd inside the Dolby Theater was happy to see her, some people had criticism. But Mrs. Obama isn’t letting the chitter chatter of a few get her down.
“That’s just the nature of life. I mean, we live in a time when there are bloggers and tweeters and 24-hour news and everyone has a voice in this town square, and it’s a big one,” Obama told Today contributor Kelly Wallace. “That means at any point at a given time, somebody’s not going to like what you do. That’s the nature of things.”
She says that the criticism is something that she is not taking personally and understands that she is a public figure, and that it comes with the territory.
“It’s not really about me,” she said. “I just happen to be in the public eye and along with everybody else in the public eye, you’re subject to conversation, opinion and all that sort of stuff. There’s nothing new about that.”
In other words, bye haters.
First Lady Obama made waves lately when she decided to cut her bangs, calling it her “midlife crisis.” However, her appearance at the Oscars was for a more important cause, her support of the arts.
Mrs. Obama appeared via satellite to present the award for best picture, which went to Ben Affleck’s Argo.
Female Gym Teacher (Who Looks Like A Dude) Accused of Sexual Misconduct with 12-Year-Old Girl
In an odd, but not totally surprising, twist to those stories where teachers are caught having inappropriate relationships with students … a female gym teacher from Arizona has been arrested and charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor after she was accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old female student.
According to court documents, 36-year-old Nicole Renee Wooten admitted to police that she committed sexual acts — including “inappropriate touching” — with the girl at her apartment between 2005 and 2006 when the girl was in the eighth grade.
A school spokesman made it clear that no incidents happened at the school where Wooten taught physical edition, and the victim was a student. Wooten had been placed on unpaid leave as of Thursday (Feb 28).
Now, not to make any light of this situation, or anything like that. But is it just us, or does “Nicole” look like she really goes by “Nick?”
You know how they say dude looks like a lady? Well, lady looks like a dude. And he should be ashamed of himself.

2DBZxSXSW: The Dopehouse, Part Deux
Last year’s edition was fun. It was simple, really: we didn’t want to throw a “showcase,” so instead we rounded up a couple of friends, shoved them all into a tiny loft and spun music all night, nearly crashing through the floor in the process. So, why not pull it off again for the 2013 edition of SXSW? And how do we make it even better?
By upgrading the formula, and making The Dopehouse a day party x rave.
The 2013 edition of the Dopehouse will once again be a place where you can get hammered and drunkenly sing along to “No Hands” and other (probably ignorant and quite possibly detrimental to society-laden) tunes while some random-ass chick you just met at one of those free showcases earlier in the week grinds feverishly on your pelvis… except this time it will be in the middle of the day, in a much larger (read: much larger) venue and with more special guests, with a couple of performances thrown into the mix to boot. Why throw a party in the middle of the day? Why not?
Sounds good? Good.
Friday, March 15th is the date. Full details to come next week.
